Manual testing

A blind tester works through your site with a screen reader and keyboard, the way a patient would, and tells you where it breaks.

How it works

We agree on the tasks that matter most, such as finding a provider, booking an appointment, paying a bill or signing in to a portal. The tester then tries to complete each one without a mouse.

This catches what automated tools can't: confusing reading order, misleading labels, error messages that are never announced, and steps too confusing to finish.

Who tests

Patrick Wilson, the founder of Braille Screen Technologies. He is blind and uses a screen reader every day.

What you get

A written report. Each finding lists the WCAG criterion, who it affects, what happened, a screenshot and a recommended fix. After you make changes, we test again and update the report.

Patient portals

We can test signed-in areas with a test account you set up. We never handle real patient data.
