Automated testing

Our platform tests your site against WCAG 2.1 AA and shows you where each problem is.

What it checks

It runs axe-core plus our own checks for things axe-core misses:

• keyboard focus that is invisible or lands on something hidden
• menus and controls that only work with a mouse
• buttons and menus that don't report whether they are open
• text that is cut off when zoomed or respaced
• focus that disappears in high-contrast mode

It also runs a screen reader through each page and records what it announces.

What you get

Each issue comes with the WCAG criterion, a screenshot and a recommended fix.

Limits

No tool can tell whether alt text is accurate or whether a patient can finish booking an appointment. For that, see manual testing.
